Brain Defects

So, I was sitting in my class on Friday taking a test with a group. It was a test we had already taken individually. One of the girls said what she thought was the answer to a question. My brain didn't respond to what she said correctly. I started saying that I didn't agree but that I thought it was another answer. She looked at me oddly and said that it was the same answer that she had said. So, that it the state of my brain....muddled. Only 2 1/2 more weeks until the end of the semester.

I met with my Internship Coordinator today. I hope to do an internship this summer while taking my full load of classes in order to graduate in July. He started getting stressed on me telling me that it's difficult to take 17 credits plus an internship. Not new information there. After a while, my history (of working and mission and all that) came out. I hope he understood that I'm not some 20 year old (no offense to 20 year olds) who doesn't know how to manage my time effectively. I know it will be stressful, but nothing in my life hasn't been. I'm pretty sure I will go insane and have a more muddled brain by July, but it's worth the sacrifice.

Decisions (blech)

I thought by this time in my life I would have made most of my major decisions...where to go to school, what to major in, who to marry, what to name my children. So far, I have only accomplished 2 of those (school and major) and it took my 10 years to decide on one of them (major). I'll be graduating in July with my BS in Child Development. I have no idea what I will be doing for the year after that before I got to grad school. I just got rejected for a job here in Rexburg. I can always move in with the parents. (Just what every 30 year old wants to do--no offense mom and dad.) After I figure that out, then I get to decide where to go to grad school. The more I research, the more I have to choose from. If I could just decide what I wanted to do with the rest of my life, it might be a bit easier. Child Development, Developmental Psychology, or Instructional Technology. So, basically this is a call for ideas from everyone. If you've heard of a good program in any of those areas, let me know. Also let me know what you think I should be when I grow up. Any ideas are welcome (within reason---no circus jokes, please).

Fried Mealworms Anyone?

In biology lab today, we learned about insects. We disected a grasshopper and then watched termites. (Okay, my lab partner did the disecting, but I watched closely. I'm not that weak.) We also watched a video about how people in many countries eat these yummy insects. So, my teacher said we could earn some extra credit points. She pulled out a cup of mealworms and fried them up. She then seasoned them with buttery salt. Believe it or not, I ate a fried mealworm! (sorry, dad, I know you have a queesy stomach) It wasn't as crispy as I hoped, and I could feel the texture a little too well, but the taste wasn't bad because it has so much seasoning on it. I never thought I would eat a bug on purpose, but I did. It was less than an inch long, so it wasn't too bad. I don't know if I would do it again. The thought of it makes me want to ditch my lunch 6 hours later. But, I earned extra credit. Anything for a grade, right?

Spring!!!

I wore sandals today! My toes loved breathing in the fresh air. When I came out of a store, there were baby chicks eating candy under my car. It looked like someone had dropped their Easter candy under there and the birds were loving it. I loved watching the birds. I love spring! Of course, with me living in the frozen north, it will probably snow another foot before spring really arrives. Spring usually only shows its face for about 2 days before summer hits in June. Sad. But we got a glimpse today! (my toes are dancing for joy right now...really!)
